Thanks for the replies to my request for help in fixing the tuning 
control lockup. WD-40 freed it up
after 2 days. I put a drop of machine oil on the shaft before 
reinstalling the knob assembly.

I'm also happy to report that the radio is working again on 75/80 meter 
bands. The good folks
at Beltronics in Hollis, NH fixed the intermittent problem. They 
replaced a small relay in the 80M
circuit (G02-0894-04).
