[1000mp] 1000 mp main tuning know locked up.

Bill and all.

This has happened to my 1kmp with both the main and sub vfo's.

Remove the rubber tire and black knob.  Place a drop of penetrating oil near the bushing where the shaft enters the radio.  Iused WD-40.  Via capillary action, the oil will be pulled in to where the binding is taking place.

Be patient.  The main tuning knob broke loose after abt 24 hours.  Was so tight that I had to use vicegrips to break it loose.  When my sub vfo started to bind, I used penetrating oil and loosened it up within 20 minutes.
