All,
The MP is also capable of FSK RTTY...which is the probably the most
preferred method for RTTY operators....even if you use MMTTY, you can build
a rather easy interface which will allow FSK....
With FSK, there is no need to dittle with mic gains...sound card
adjustments...frequency offsets, etc.... just turn the power down and
go!....
73...
Have fun...

This is not really the way to handle this type of
mode. You are inputing a signal that can easily
overdrive your radio. And limiting power with this
method does nothing to rememdy overdrive.
If you will set your controls like your are operating
ssb (mic gain and do not use any compression and do
not have any alc showing)then carefully use the output
of your adapter or soundcard to not overdrive your
radio and use this level to attain your desired output
power you will be way ahead.
Remember microphones only put out levels in millivolts
and soundcards are capable of volts output. I use a
large attenuator between my soundcard and a aux input
on the rear and still have the soundcard output fairly
low.
Best regards and good luck
