OK thanks. My SWR on this freq is 2:1 and so I was hoping to use the tuner
to get it down lower because it appears it is limiting my output by half
power.

Hi Bob,

for all I have observed with my Mk-V Field, I can say that the "Wait"
indicator stays on as long as the tuner tries to match for best SWR. If the
tuner doesn't find a match with a SWR better than a certain threshold (not
sure if it's 1.5:1 or 2:1) the tuner will stop, and I think the "Tuner"
indicator goes off (automatic tuner is disabled) and the "Hi SWR" indicator
goes on. As I remember, it will take about 30 or 40 seconds, before this
happens.
Sorry that I do not know more precise numbers, but I personally use an
external, manual MFJ-tuner since about more than a year, so I'm not aware of
the exact timing any more.
