I've got a Logikey outboard keyer which I mostly use with my JRC  
JST-245. I like the convenience of that FH-1 remote pod sitting on  
the desk.  I do OK with the Mark V's quirky keyer in contests (S&P)  
and DXing (hoping to land 3B7C) by sending just W3ULS and RR 5NN BK.  
Anything more, and I'm in trouble :-)

I'm afraid the ancient chip in the Mark V is suffering from major  
overload. Probably a reason why Yaesu abandoned the V. Otherwise, the  
rig is hard to beat IMHO.
