[1000mp] Which 8 Pin DIN plug?

This discussion actually began on the Tower Talk list a couple of weeks
ago when K9YC reported having bought some DIN connectors from the RF
Connection only to find that they wouldn't take solder. The general
consensus was that the connectors he bought were probably "RoHS
compliant", which is another problem.

As for the FT-1000 band data plug, the majority of responders believe it
is the less-common 262 degree variety. One dissenting opinion came from
Universal Radio, which sells both types. They think Yaesu uses the 270
degree. I asked them to double-check this and have not heard back from
them yet. I called Yaesu yesterday, and they were unable to tell me
which style they use, although they may get back to me later with
additional information. The Yaesu part number for the correct plug is
P0090651, and they sell it for $2.38 plus "$5 to $10" for shipping. One
of these plugs is included with the FT-2000 and the FT-9000, but wasn't
included with the FT-1000.

From the FT-1000 service manual, the band data connector on the radio
has a manufacturer's part number TCS5073-19-4151. I was unable to locate
a data sheet for the TCS5073-19-4151 online. This is a Hosiden part
number. I did find a DIN connector brochure on the Hosiden website at:
http://www.hosiden.co.jp/web/english/web/products/pdf/e_c03_din.pdf .
This brochure includes the TCS5073 series of connectors, but not this
specific part number. It also includes drawings of the two different 8
pin styles, showing how they differ.
