This is most probably the reason why you now hear the "spatial" effect 
in your headphones. It is the factory default if I'm not mistaken. This 
can be changed via menu 4-8: Stereo1 is the spatial effect, Stereo2 
makes the channels totally separate (VFO A in your left ear, VFO B in 
the right one).

This may be a stupid question, as I guess you already have checked this, 
but just in case: have you tried playing with the mode in order to see 
whether the secondary VFO filters (6 kHz in AM, 2.4 kHz in SSB and 
optional 500 Hz in CW) are ok ? Both VFOs share the same entry stage 
filters, but those ones, after the 2nd IF (for the main VFO) or 3rd IF 
(for the secondary one), are different sets, so the secondary VFO ones 
may be faulty, but I can't believe they would all have failed at the 
same time so this is probably not the cause anyway.
