[1000mp] Repair of FT-1000MP MkV

Listmates,

I need to draw on the collective wisdom of this fine group.  Through 
an incredible bit of inattention and stupidity on my part, I have 
severely damaged my beloved transceiver (200 watts RTTY into a dead 
short...don't ask the how and why!)  While I am familiar with the 
Yaesu Service Center in California I am curious if anyone knows of an 
excellent individual, shop or company doing service work in the 
southeast.  If you've had first hand experience with the repair 
facility, all the better - I'd appreciate hearing your comments !  I 
know this has been discussed from time to time on the lists but I 
would like to get some current recommendations.  I recall seeing some 
time ago something about a fellow in South Carolina that did top 
flight work - any one know who that might be and if he still does 
repair work ?  Many thanks for the help - any and all suggestions
