[1000mp] CAT Control

There are two problems:
1. Windows won't let two applications simultaneously open the same serial
port
2. Without synchronization between the two applications, they would quickly
become confused in their interaction with the transceiver. For example, one
might might get half-way through sending a command only to have the other
begin sending a command.
If one of your two applications will work correctly (and usefully) by simply
monitoring the radio's responses to commands sent by the other application
and you have two serial ports, then you could wire that application's serial
port's RX DATA to the CAT output (in parallel with that of the other serial
port) but leave its TX DATA disconnected (so any commands it sent would
never reach your FT1000 MP). Each application would then open a separate
serial port. One application would have full CAT control; the other would
only monitor the CAT output.
I have not tried this, so no guarantees...

Subject: [1000mp] CAT Control
Hello All -
I presently have two different applications that use CAT control. One, MixW
digital software, and two, DXbase logging software. When the digital
software's CAT control is on, I am unable to use the DXbase rig control for
freq changes from DX spots.
Does anyone know if the FT1000 MP can handle more than one CAT control?
I have asked Yaesu for an answer, but recieved no response.

Larry
