i was using 1000mp for portable operation.
where 12V DC gonna come from - the car or some separate battery?
if you use battery make sure that you use "deep cycle" battery used
for wheel-chairs or electric motor boats - these batteries maintain
12V much longer than the "regular car batteries" whose only job is to
push 200 amps in one second spike.

second task is to check what is the minimal voltage your MP gonna work
with. my radio was turning off when battery went below 11.7V... the
battery will still have 50% of its charge  but MP could not use it
because the voltage is too low....
