[1000mp] FT-1000MP always scanning

See if the fast tune ring stops the scan.
I had a problem in the main dial knob.
It is not hard to take the knob off and fix it.

For some reason, all of a sudden, my FT-1000MP when switched on starts 
to scan on the Main VFO. I have disconnected the mike and
PC cables but still scanning, can not seem to stop it.

Any suggestions?
