[1000mp] AW: New owner question

It seems this button combination works upon turning on the TRX, the
display will show some gibberish and after that both the main and sub
are at 7.000 Mhz. Then none of the buttons work. It indeed looks like a
keyboard lock, except that it doesn't respond to pushing the lock
button, to unlock it. I have seen descriptions of this problem on at
least 2 diffrent places on the internet both of the times the solution
had something to do with disconnecting some wrong equipment that was
hooked up to the CAT connector, I have currently nothing connected
there. However when I use a demo of TRX-manager I can use all the
functions and the radio responds. I found one more strange thing,
despite being able to change the mode with TRX-manager, the display
still shows LSB, no matter what mode I choose. However judging from the
audio, when tuned to a broadcast station I am certain that the mode
changes from LSB to AM or CW. Also as said all dials seem to work, I can
change the frequency on the main and sub, also the jog-dial works, but
the VRF and IDBT buttons on the jog dial don't work.

To me it seems like the buttons are indeed locked after turn-on, but
somehow, the processor doesn't "process" a change of that state. Also
when I use the TRX-manager software to do a lock the lock indicator on
the display will show. I tried locking and unlocking that way, somehow
hoping to reset the lock, but all it does is lock and lock the dials.

I hope this helps, somehow. I'll be happy to answer any other questions
if it helps me getting to solve this puzzle.

regards,
Xander PE2PCH
