[1000mp] RTTY question

Lance I think copying two RTTY signals on the same band is doable but you 
have to use the stereo low level audio output with the main receiver on one 
side and the sub on the other.  There may be a menu setting that sets what 
comes out of the stereo output...whether it is discrete left and right or 
mixed a bit.  I don't have the book in front of me.  I know on the FT-1000D 
there is a switch that selects that.

The radio will need to be set up in dual receive mode with each frequency 
dialed in.  You mentioned split frequency which is a designation for 
transmit selection as opposed to dual which is for the receivers.

You may also have a cable problem...if turning up the volume on the main 
causes the computer on the sub to start decoding it's signal you may have 
some kind of cross talk in the cabling.  Use separate shielded cables for 
the audio paths to each computer from the radio.  Also don't use the speaker 
output, be sure to use the output on the rear of the radio designed for that 
purpose.  It should have a fixed audio level independent of the front panel 
controls.  Again I don't have a book in front of me so I can't give you a 
jack designation....but that is the preferred method going into your sound 
card mic input on each computer...
