Bob,

The "PATCH" input on the backside (RCA FEMALE CONNECTOR) is wired in
parallel with the microphone connector on the front panel.

It is my understanding that you can feed the Mark V FT-1000MP from the front
or rear with audio input.  Is there any difference in the audio sound or the
audio processing circuit using the front or rear input or are they the same.
I have heard some radios that have a very noticeable difference in the
output audio being feed into the front or rear inputs.
