I believe the original MP was first manufactured in 1995. Key clicks are a
problem on all original MPs and on at least the early MKVs. Not sure about
the end date for production.

My recently acquired 1000MP has a serial number 8F280xxx. From reading the
archives I've figured out that it was manufactured in April, 1998.
Just out of curiosity, what was the first year/month of production and the
last year/month of production of the original MP (not the Mk V)?
At any time during the production period, did Yaesu fix the key click
problem and/or the AGC time constant problem by incorporating circuitry or
component changes? If so, does anyone know the dates or production run
numbers where the changes were made?
Many thanks,
K3AN
