Dear Ralph,
TNX for the reply...
Yes I did tried it whit a dummy-load, and found the AGC problem on all
bands! was using a DAIWA cross-needle meter to check RF output and SWR, SWR
looks perfect!
As I mention I got the feeling that the problem started during the PACC
contest a week a go, My FT1000mp Mark V was designated for 21MHz and we had
a multi chaser station also on 21MHz. So maybe that causes the damage....?!
Can not proof that before I know what the hack goes wrong.
For your info, my AGC is consequently wrong and not jumping al over the
place. After releasing the PTT she gradually drop from S9 to S1 or S0 on the
dummy-load. Time base approx 2 sec. If you listen carefully you can hear the
receiver rustle coming up while the AGC level drops. The receiver is
certainly not deaf.. but the rustle is slightly less after the PPT is
released.

Have you tried a good dummy load. If so with what results.
I used to have a similar problem that was caused by two problems
I was using a 160 meter 1/2wave dipole fed with a transformer type balum.
My agc readings were all over the place. Hi, Low, it didn't matter if there
were signals on the RX or not.
Also had strange changing SWR.
Turned out to be a bad balum and local broadcast stations 550-1700 Khz were
overloading the rx with rf on the antenna.
Changed the 160 meter dipole to a 80 meter dipole and new balum and problem
went away.

Ralph
