Hi Mike, thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that tonight and will keep 
you informed. I don't even remember which mode I'm in. I once tried to 
see the difference with and without the supposed "automatic character 
spacing", but I get my keying speed is still too low to take any 
advantage of it anyway (I'm fairly new to the hobby and to CW). :-)
