[1000mp] Mark V Field Display Problem

I always leave the power switch of my Mark V turned on and installed a
delay-on timer and AC-powered relays on the DC outputs of my FP-29.

Turning the radio on:

*  Switch the FP-29 on.
* The timer runs for 15 seconds.
* The PSU settles during this timing period.
* No start-up spikes can enter the radio.
* The timer closes the DC output relays after 15 seconds and the radio is
   turned on.

Turning the radio off:

*  Switch the FP-29 off.
* The AC-powered DC output relays drop out immediately.
* No PSU power-down spikes can enter the radio.

Before the timer, I also used to do this switching manually. Unfortunately,
the Field has an internal PSU.

However, I have not noticed any display start-up delay relating to the
manner in which the Mark V is turned on. My experience is that any display
start-up delay is related to ambient temperature - the colder it is, the
longer the start-up delay. The Field may behave differently.

May or may not help in your situation, but I always turn the
FP-29 on first, wait several second and then power on the
radio. However, you may have a more serious problem.
