Hi Stuart - VE9STU;
Thanks so much for replying to my query. No glue called for in my kit Stuart
(Stu). There is a block of foam with a cut out allowing the mod to fit right
inside the cut out. It is cut only partially through the foam and gives it a
nice home and quite stable.
We may have used different kits, mine was the HC-104. I did take the bull by
the horns and adjusted my dsp capabilities to what I believed might help
with the needed base. After 15 contacts, I think I am getting very close to
what my previous (Yaesu handheld) was giving me and I'll just be patient for
a few months and see if I get a high percent of good evaluations. So far
they are about split, needing base or not needing base, and some comments
about the pile up breaking aspect of "too much treble or high pitch).
I really appreciate you taking the time and advising about your personal
experience with the d-104. far it seems to be operating like the champ it
is.
Thanks again, 73 and hope to TTU soon.
