[1000mp] 1000MP Settings after Roofing Filter Installed

Hello Doug:

After installing several Inrad roofing filters in different Mark V radios, I
would suggest lowering the gain in menu 9-1 by two integers from the factory
setting.

You will notice that signals that are S9 on the modified main receiver, will
be approximately S9 on the second receiver. The S meter will not be linear
below S9 however, and will differ from the second receiver readings more and
more as the signals become weaker.

I used my signal generator to confirm the S9 correlation with 50 microvolts
input.

In practice, I keep the RF gain reduced to further lower the noise floor. I
synchronize the frequency of the second receiver to the main board, and use
the S meter on the second receiver to give signal reports.

73 and Happy DXing,

Mike
