That is a quite simple although laborous procedure.
Actually the same steps should be followed what I did to
replace the Clarifier encoder. On my webpage u can see some
photos. On the fifth photo you can see the PCB holding the
connectors. 

Actually you may try without removing the frontplate, afaik
you get good access to that PCB if you tilt the frontplate
forward.
