[1000mp] 1000mp CAT dead

Hi All,

I just acquired a clean mp but unfortunately the CAT appears to be dead.
I've checked the port & cable using my MK5 and they are fine.
Tried all the permutations in the port settings,since I know there are some
variations between the MK5 and the MP. So, looks like a RS-232 hardware
failure in the mp. Anyone on the list replaced that IC before??
(I'm downloading the service manual now.) Any thoughts on something else
I should check???
