Again!
All of a sudden, I lost any audio.
This started last week, but it was momentary.
No sound speakers or headphones.
Squelch is set correct.
Antenna is correct.
Doesn't matter which filter is selected.
Notch, NB all at normal settings.
Attenuator is in normal 0 position.
AGC is in 'Auto'.

Hitting the key will cause the rig to go into xmit mode, but not put out a signal.
The VL-1000 amp will also go into xmit mode but also indicate no signal being sent out.
I've checked all cables, antennae are normal.
It's like the squelch is too tight, but I do not use squelch.
I CAN'T FIND ANY MENU SETTING THAT MAY OVERIDE SQUELCH, IS THERE ONE?

Sometimes, switching to VFO B will give me VFO B audio but not always.
Switching back and forth between VFO's does not return rig to normal.
Sometimes, turning the rig off/on will return it to normal.
But today, that would not work.

The length of time that it goes dead is variable.
I can not make it loose audio, and when I say...lost audio...nothing, not even the
strongest signal or any 'normal' noise.
I do hear that soft 'rush' of sound, but not the steady, hiss, pops, crackles like you
normally hear.

And as I'm writing this...it just popped back to normal.

There must be some correlation as sending via paddle or trying to make a ssb xmission
because neither produce any signal or sound out of the 'monitor'. I have no sidetone as I
normally would with cw.
Just the PTT click and a strong 'pop' as the rig returns to receive mode.

This rig and the VL-1000 have made so many trips to Cerritos CA, they qualify for
'frequent flyer miles'.

Anybody have any ideas?
Which quadrant of rig should I hit with mallet?

I was in the supermarket the other day, and I met a lady in the aisle where they keep the
generic brands. Her name was 'woman'.
