The MD-200 sounds good. You need to adjust the internal diaghram for best sound.

I have tried three microphones with my MK V:

1.) The MD-200 which I purchased used and still own.
2.) Astatic D-104 with an op-amp buffer amp (my own design) to drive the 600 ohm input impedance.
3.) An ElectroVoice 664.

I have ended up using the EV 664 with the Tx EDSP set to position "1". This sounds best to me, as well as others who have commented on the audio. One friend in particular who experiments extensively with transmit SSB audio said that there was nothing I could or would want to do than use the EV 664 and the EDSP setting. He was very impressed. Obviously, the EV 664 is a much less expensive option than a MD-200. I will probably hold on to the MD-200 and sell it with the radio some day.

We convinced another friend who was using a Heil to abandon that for the EV 664 and EDSP "1" setting. EV664s go for $10 to $50 on EBAY. If you use one, make sure to use the low impedance, 150 ohm output.
