have the above filters. My question is how important is it to have =
matching
filters on the 455 kHZ and the 8.215mHz side. Right now I have the 2800
(455khz) plug-in installed, but I have not installed the 2800 (8.215 =
mhz).
Is this a big problem or just simply that the 2nd IF filter is just
different from the 3rd IF. with no real effect.

Next, I know that the receive passes through the 2nd and 3rd IF of the =
radio
if selected. I also know that replacing the so called 2.4 filters with =
the
2.8 filters also affects the transmit. If this is true do both affect =
the
transmit, or just one or the other. I guess the reason I am asking this
question is that I don=92t understand why Yaesu thought it best to =
solder-in
the 8.215 filter and not the 455 side????? Or is the transmit a separate
thing since it is selected by menu. A lot is said about the receive =
side of
the radio, but very little is mentioned about the transmit side dealing =
with
the filters.=20
