No, but is the cable long on your YH-77? I have had luck with the little
snap on ferrite that Radio Shack sells on my Heil headset. If that is not
the case, how close is your 40m antenna to your shack? For whatever reason,
40m has been the "headache" band for me also. I'm going to have to change
the orientation of my 40m also, as it is close to the house, but opposite
the shack. It's ok at 100 watts, but at 500 I have trouble. I've not used
baluns, but if it is feedline radiation, that should help. This is an inv
vee at 40ft, but part of one leg is too close to the house. At least with
500 watts.
73 and GL Ken.....

Subject: [1000mp] Problem With Audio Feedback In Headsets On 40 Meters
Every time I transmit on SSB on 40 Meters, I get really terrible audio
feedback distortion through my YH-77 headsets audio output. However, when I
disconnect the headsets and use my SP-8 Speaker--there isn't any audio
feedback or distortion. By the way, the SWR is 1:1.
This audio feedback problem only occurs on 40 meters. Has anyone else
experienced the same problem with the FT-1000MP Mark V?
