[1000mp] Pro III -- FT1000MP comparison

I agree.  I had the Pro, Pro II and the Mark V.  I now have the Mark V.  Its 
more expensive to get the filters for the MarkV or MP, but I like the 
receiver better than the Pro series.  This is a subjective comparison not 
objective, the MP just sounds better to me.

In addition as  a contester/dxer I like the dual receive better than dual 
watch.  Its much easier to use the 2nd vfo knob on the mp/mark v to find the 
listening frequency of the dx station I'm trying to work.  During contests I 
normally go to a mutli/single or multi/multi.  Its nice to be able to use 
the 2nd vfo to setup a frequency for a multiplier.  Hit the a/b button, work 
the mult and then go back to the run frequency (on the same band of course).

I'd like to install the inrad roofing filter and the key click mod to clean 
things up a bit.

So if I were in the market again, it would be another mp or mark v.

I would not be happy giving up Dual Receive.  I use it almost constantly in
CW and RTTY.

As a matter of fact, if all MP´s in the world would be
replace with PRO III´s life would be much much nicer
for ALL hams that are active on the bands.
