That is good information Costas.

I have an FT1000MP and also an ICOM 756 Pro II. One is in Minnesota and the
other is in Idaho [two operating locations]. I have only used the Pro II in
a US/VE contest [Field Day] in Minnesota. It was OK but did not 'feel' like
the FT1000MP which I have used in ARRL DX and CW WW and ARRL SS for the past
five years operating in Idaho.

As you mention, it may only be the fact that I really 'know' how to use the
MP in a contest and am not as experienced using the Pro II in a contest that
make me feel there is a substantive difference.

My MP has the INRAD 250Hz , 400Hz and 1.8 KHz filters as well as the
roofing filter (and of course the W8JI click mod).. I really don't notice
QRM much with the MP but did notice it slightly with the Pro II.

I am now thinking over maybe getting a 756 Pro III or an ICOM 7800
[thinking is very inexpensive --- it is the buying that one notices] which
is why I was asking the question on the reflector.
