[1000mp] I was barred from the ft9000-ft2000 yahoo group

The Orion is a terrific rig, but you obviously have never spoken to any
of the multitude of Orion owners about the continual problems with that
rig. It has a design flaw (overtaxed DSP) and yet somehow Ten Tec
doesn't come out and admit it and just keeps releasing firmware patches.
You ever wonder why Ten Tec made fun of Icom for releasing the Pro 2 18
months after the original Pro and then did the same thing with the Orion?

The Elecraft is a nice rig, but is essentially a toy compared to
anything like a Mark V/Orion/FT-9000.

Even given it's flaws, the MARK V series is the best rig for the money
available, period. Of course, it's best to have one of the later ones
and get the mods built-in, but even after the cost of adding them, it's
still a bargain.

How exactly do you know whether the problems with the FT-9000 are poor
design? How exactly are you privy to the problems with the FT-2000? Were
you part of either design team? Are you a professional designer who has
gotten together with a group of FT-9000 owners to reverse engineer the
9000 and discover it's flaws? Are you an industrial spy who has
ferreted-out all the problems that Yaesu is having with the FT-2000? Or
are you just a disgruntled amateur who wants to complain because he
can't get his rig when he wants it?

You either want Yaesu to introduce a rig without bugs or you want it
quickly and I'd suggest you decide which before you post.

The FT-2000 is being used right now in Montenegro for the DXpedition
2006. This will tell us quite a lot about how close the FT-2000 is to
being ready for market.
