In Yaesu nomenclature "XF" represents the bare filter and "YF"
designates a filter mounted on a plug-in circuit board.
In this case an XF-115S (note the 'S') is a bare sideband filter
designed to be soldered in to the radio's IF circuit board. This
is most likely an optional second filter for cascading or to replace
a low performance ceramic filter.
Yaesu have traditionally designated standard 2.4 KHz wide filters
with an S, 2.0 KHz filters with and SN, 500 or 600 Hz filters with
a C and 250 Hz filters with CN at the end of the filter number.
