[1000mp] MK 5

I just bought a used MK 5. While putting in the Inrad roofing filter and key
click mods--- on the bottom side of the IF board there is a jumper/patch of
some type. I first thought this was the previous customers doing due to the
sloppy soldering and odd assembly.....until I saw the same identical board
on one of the websites...exactly the same patch..including the piece of
masking tape. HI 
What is this, is it an after assembly Yaesu patch of some kind? Do all MK
5's have this?  I have a set of Inrads on the way and do not want to plug
them in until I know what this is and if it is a factory fix of some
kind...to be left alone? I have had a couple of MP's  since about '96 but
sold them to get an Orion. Really love the MP so I bought another one.
Hopefully when updated it will give as much good service as the others did.
It should be very interesting to see the difference in the Orion and the MK5
with the roofing filter and other mods sitting side by side...could be fun.
