Hi John:

The 30 V DC supplies the transistors in the final of the MkV, resulting 
in a current of 14.5 A. Of course, the power transistors are consuming a 
lot of amperes to produce 200 watts RF.

13.8 V is the supply voltage for the rest of the transceiver.
