TED,

One of the easiest ways is to use the CAT interface between your
computer software and the FT1000mp for PPT (keying) and two (2) Radio
Shack transformers for isolation of the AFSK audio in and out from the
FT1000mp to the sound card. FSKing although great can be replace easily
by AFSK plus provide all modes. I used direct connections from the audio
out and in from the FT1000mp without any hum or other noise but deceided
to later to use isolation transformers. Work like a champ although I
had to adjust the audio settings to the MP every time I switches
software for different modes.

If FSK is that important the he best investment I made was purchasing a
MicroHam USB microkeyer that interfaces the FT with the computer and
provides all sorts of options and easily interfaces to all of the sound
card programs avaible. AFSK, FSK and CW keying easily. Great piece of
equipment, not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for. Uses the
USB port and a sound card. Look forward to a possible QSO.
