[1000mp] PSK w/Rascal??

Dear Laura,

My own rig uses a PK-232 and a Dell 900 series desktop PC
with a 1000MP-V and after trying for six months I have to report that
I have not once decoded one word in PSK.

I know it's not the radio or the TNC, or the PC, so it must be the operator.

Despite 140 different tutorials, despite all the magazine articles
and website instructionals, nothing works. Nada. Zip.

The TNC does fine in packet and RTTY, send and receive. The waterfall
display
shows stuff that looks like PSK "dribbles," the little clockface seems to
indicate
quadrature, but the receive screen just comes up with garbage characters.

There's too much in my life that needs doing o waste any more time on that
nonsense so
I don't even try anymore.

Hal

Subject: [1000mp] PSK w/Rascal??

I've been trying for days, and can't get my 1000mp Mark V set up for
PSK.

I'm using a "Rascal" and the packet port in the back of the radio. I
don't

know what else to do or what to adjust to make it work. I had an older

rascal (which broke) where I plugged into the mic jack and then adjusted
mic

gain and power to get low ALC and about 10 watts out. But with the NEW

setup the Rascal guy insisted I must use, I don't know how to do it. Is

anyone using a Rascal with their 1000mp for PSK? Or RTTY for that
matter?

I need some help and I'm all googled out.

    Thanks!

    KJ7UN, Laura
