[1000mp] M5 / Doctor - Part 2

Did you notice the problem as soon as you turned it on at your new qth.
If so, possibly the move jarred a grounding binding clip or loosened a
molex plug.
You need to open the cabinet and with the eraser tip of a pencil gently
probe connectors for anything loose and also turn the rig over to see if
anything like a clip falls out.
Good Luck,
Randy

OK, thanks for the few replies. I guess this problem is unique. Some other
checks were done. Sorry I didn't mention. Backup radio, TS440S with internal
ant. tuner, works fine. M5 was checked with the MFJ-969 ant. tuner which has
a dummy load. Same results as the original posted message.
I just found this website this week (great job Doug) and haven't gone thru
the archives to see if anything similar ever got posted. I really don't have
the technical skills or too much testing equipment to do surgery on it and
only recently relocated here to the Tampa / Sarasota part of FLA.
The multi frequency receiving and "clearly" at the same time is a classic. I
will be opening it up over the weekend looking for anything abnormal /
burned, etc. If you have any more thoughts or comments, I sure would
appreciate it.
Not even sure where to send it off to for professional help yet as I guess
that's my next option.
Good weekend to all and Good DX (if ya have some).
Thanks again,
Bob KC2IUR
