I don't know about the Mk.V, but the MP Operating Manual has instructions
for adjusting knob torque on page 102.

How do you adjust the tension on the main VFO knob? I assume there is some
type adjustment under the rubber skirt of the main VFO but I am unable to
get it off. (I am scared to apply too much pressure between the skirt and
the shuttle jog) Any tips? I see nothing in the manual that addresses
this...
