[1000mp] MP Problem

Joe:
You posted earlier about a cable that would not seat.
The cable you referenced was on the RF board and goes to the Control board.
I might think that if that cable were not correctly seated and gripped by
the connector there may be one or more of the lines that is not making
properly.
I am not where I can look at the MP Service Manual but perhaps someone else
on the reflector can look at theirs and see if one of the lines in that
cable might cause the problem you mention. Meanwhile, I suggest that you go
back through all of the steps you took in the RF board operation and make
sure that the correct RF cables are plugged into the correct jacks. Then
very carefully reseat the two cables at the left side of the board (viewed
from the front of the MP). I am doing this from memory, but I think there
was a possibility to mix up at least on pair of RF cables on the RF board.
You mention that your alterative is to send the unit away for repair so I am
guessing that you do not have test equipment that would allow you to trace
circuit continuity or the path of injected signals which might provide some
additional information. Without a Service Manual it probably would be a
difficult thing to do I think.
