It depends entirely on which microHAM interface you are talking 
about.  WinKey from K1EL is a serial port controlled keyer.  

The microHAM CW Keyer includes the WinKey chip but also provides 
USB (not RS-232) connection to the computer and a rig control 
output in a single box.  MicroHAM enhances WinKey with memory 
keyer functions (9 x 50 character memories that can be chained 
and/or looped) and keyboard CW capabilities. 

The microHAM microKEYER includes all the functions of CW Keyer 
plus audio switching/isolation for Phone and digital mode 
(PSK/AFSK/etc.) operation.
