Hi Robert - ref your post re Speaker RF.
As a thought, this maybe a similar problem that I have suffered with my own MP. First thing to elliminate is the fact is it actually RF getting into the speaker from leads etc, so firstly attack all routes with ferrite, including mic and external leads.
One obvious thing - make sure the "Moni" is off.
Run your rig into a dummy load - if it is still present then I'm sure it's being picked up elsewhere. With mine the fault was with the AF board and Nevada fitted a new one, although to be honest it didn't totally cure it.Was still there, but not as bad.
Nevada did say Yaesu was aware of the problem, but offered no immediate cure.
At one point I even inserted a relay on the speaker leads to chop the speaker out of line when on TX - ok for me as I mainly use SSB - but not much use for CW/Digimode ops, as the sidetone is not audible.
I've heard of other MP's with this problem - but not all.A freind of mine has a MK5 and this is fine.
Hope you have some luck with it, as it still cost me £300 to get the rig looked at, but the symtoms are still apparent.
