Dear Robin
Put a ferrite in the cable which connects the 1000mp with the external 
speaker sp8.
Beside this... you say well grounded. A good dc ground it is not a good rf 
ground for sure.
If the ground wire is too long maybe you need an artificial ground.
I had similar problems as i live in second floor snd i can't have a good rf 
ground.
After i used the mfj artificial ground most of the problems solved (not 
all).

Hi All
      I have a problem with RF feedback coming through
the SP8 speaker, I can hear my voice coming through
and sometimes I can hear cracks and bangs coming
through as well.
My SWR is 1.1 as I use a 5 band beam (MA5B) I ave
everything well grounded and I have tried different
mics but no good.
I hope someone can give me some idea's and thanks.
