[1000mp] Yaesu Mark V & FL-2100 Series

I hope this isn't a red herring: I had a problem with a spike on PTT
make with my ten tec omni VI when I first got it. there was also a
smaller one on break. this was ssb only, not when keying for cw. in
this case it wasn't as big--around 75 w. on make and maybe 35 on break.
for awhile, i didn't even notice it because i didn't have anything
fast enough and sensitive enough to catch it, and it wasn't enough to
harm anything downstream fortunately. about a year after i got it, i
opened it up and went to the board with the bal. modulator and tweaked
two trim pots that are adjusted to get a carrier null. after getting
a better null, i put the rig back in service and noticed the spike was
gone. i never noticed it with vox, but also with vox, to key the rig I
had to give the rig some sound resulting in output anyway on make, so
that may have disguised the spike.
