Friends,
I am new to this reflector and have only had the rig for about 5 weeks. I
should have said that I have the 100 watt
Mark-5 FIELD and not a 200 watt Mark-5. Sorry about that. The ALS-600 only
needs 50 watts to put out 200 watts. The comments about the 200 watt spikes
from a Mark-5 should not apply to the Field rig. Right ? As I read the
reply from N9AA, I realized that I was not thinking clearly. Since you can't
put the internal tuner between the amp and the antenna, you have to have an
outboard tuner to have an acceptable SWR in front of the amp. Am I correct
on that thinking ?
Going from the Ten Tec Paragon, KAM PLUS with Hostmaster soft ware to the
Mark-5 Field, MMTTY, N1MM contest logger and DigiPan for PSK has been a real
challenge for this 79 year old operator. Hope I live long enough to get it
all working. hi.
