Hello Bill:
Chances are that the repair shop used the rotation method to repair your
clarifier. It is not done at high speed at all, but maybe three or four
times faster than you can rotate the control by hand.
Use the method posted on the VA3CR website to correct the jumping clarifier.
It will return the control to proper operation in most cases.

Subject: [1000mp] Clarifier again
I am again having problems with the clarifier on my FT1000MP. I had sent my
radio to have it repaired for two or three things, a while back, and they
cleaned the control. It seemed to be ok but the problem has returned. - I
should have had it replaced then!
I know that this has been discussed before and I recall the idea of using a
high speed drill and running the control back and forth. This seems a little
heavy handed. I, also, remember that some don't use this control preferring
to just use the second receiver. (I do use it and want it to work.) I
thought that I would just order a replacement, and do it myself.
Can anyone tell me what I am getting into?
Bill, W5VX
