I use a Ten Ten 1208 6m transverter with my 1000MP.    The 
transverter takes up to 5W of 20m RF drive and puts out about 
8W.    I have the transverter on the "B" antenna port of the MP and 
use menu 4-0 to reduce output power to the 0-10 W range and adjust 
the power for 5W when using the transverter.
Works fine.
