Buddy:

You will need either a hi-z to low-z transformer, or the D104 mic buffer (I still sell) that is featured in August 99 QST. The mic plug wiring should be in the manual.

Subject: [1000mp] Mark 5 and D104

Hi all,

I have an old Astatic D-104 microphone that I'd like to wire to work with my Mark 5. There are 4 wires, red, white, black and a shield. Can someone give the correct wiring for the 8-pin Yaesu plug.
Also, I would like to hear from anyone who uses this mike with the Mark 5. I've read the D-104 likes high Z but the manual says the Mark 5 is only 500-600 ohms.
