[1000mp] inrad 1.8 filter experience

Rick,

It might not be a bad idea to start with the roofing filter.

I've found the 2.1 KHz Inrads excellent even in tough situations operating
mainly dx contests on SSB in crowded bands and high qrm.

I've used 1.8 Khz filters in other rigs, but generally found that they were
only useful in the worse QRM situations. I found cascaded filters on these
other brand rigs were really really tough to copy and it would actually take
a little while to get my ears tuned to the sound from them.

I have a pair of these rigs, and the roofing filters came out just before I
obtained the second rig. I promptly added the roofing filter mod as the
first mod. in the second rig, and found that this provided the most dramatic
improvement when I compared it to my experience with the first MK5.

The field is great, so enjoy it.
