[1000mp] My Mk. V modification experience

Recently, I did all the mods on my Mk. V at one time: Key Clicks, NB,
Receiver Audio (K9AN), and Roofing Filter. Most of the work was quite
easy, but I encountered one difficult situation.

To get at one of the boards for the Key Click mod, you have to dismount
the PA heatsink assembly and move it out of the way. Two of the screws
that have to be removed are in a narrow slot between the PA and another
sub-assembly, and access is difficult due to the large number of wires
which pass through that area.

It wasn't too hard to get the screws out, but re-assembly was more of a
problem. I found a suggestion on one website to add a few extra tie
wraps to keep the wires together, and another suggestion to use lip balm
to stick the screws to the screwdriver until they are properly seated. I
did both of those things, but still couldn't see past the wires to
locate the screw holes.

I used several pieces of electrical tape to keep the wire bundles up
against the adjacent subassembly and out of the way. While this got the
job done, I'm concerned that over time the effect of heat in this area
on the tape is going to cause a gooey mess. I'm wondering if anyone has
come up with a better solution than I did?

John, K9MM
