Dear

Check if the +5V is on the filter board, there is maybe a bad soldering or
connection in the jumper.

If this 5v DC is not on the ampifier after the roofing filter will not work.

Check and recheck the wiring of the IF coaxial cables.

Onderwerp: [1000mp] ROOFING FILTER

I received the INRAD Roofing Filter as a Christmas present and just now got
around to installing it in my MARK V (200W) and the difference it makes is
incredible. What I have now though is no S-meter reading what so ever. I
had the IF mod in and when I did that I changed menu 9-1 from 13 to 9 and
the S-meter seemed to be pretty close to my ear, I have no test equipment.
Looking around the bands today I found someone on 17 meters giving me a S-5
on my IC-706 MIIG and the same S-5 on the MARK-V sub VFO but nothing on the
main VFO. I moved 9-1 back to 13 but still nothing even after moving it up
to 31. If I find a big signal 20 over 9 I can get the main VFO S-meter to
read a S-9 but nothing more than that. The signal is booming and sounds
like a 20 over signal but the meter isn't corresponding. This doesn't seem
normal, any comments?

By the way, anyone interested in my INRAD IF mod let me know, $25.00 postage
paid in US.
