Hello Dennis::

Make sure that you have the +5 Volt input at the connector, and the ground 
on the other connector pin.  It sounds like your two stage amplifier is not 
replacing the insertion losses from the new filter.  Since you had the old 
mod installed, just double check that the solder joints on the power pins 
are okay, and that the board has power.  Also check that the input and 
output lines are not reversed on the board.
