[1000mp] 250Hz Filters

There are two 250Hz filters that can be installed, 2nd and 3rd IF.  Obiviously if both are installed you will hear a big difference over the 500Hz filters.  I only have the one in the 2nd IF installed and between it and the 500Hz I hear very little difference.  (On the 500Hz I do have the 3rd IF 500Hz filter installed.)  Should I be able to hear more difference with just the one installed?
